Goals from Keanu Marsh-Brown, Mark Byrne and Jake Hyde gave Barnet a 3-0 win over Braintree Town as they moved top of the Skrill Premier table.
Braintree endured a nightmare first-half with both Dean Wells and Alan Massey being dismissed before Jake Hyde saw his penalty saved.
Marsh-Brown opened the scoring inside the opening 60 seconds of the second-half before Mark Byrne smashed the ball home to seal the points with 18 minutes remaining, Hyde added a third in added time.
With just two minutes played the hosts were dealt a huge blow as Wells was shown a straight red card for a two-footed challenge on Byrne.
Dan Holman subsequently replaced Dan Sparkes as the Iron looked to sure up their defence and they almost took the lead soon after as Sean Marks looped a head over the bar.
As the half wore on the Bees began to dominate, top scorer Hyde was first to try his luck but he fired wide before Harry Crawford clattered the woodwork.
With 31 minutes played things got even worse for the home side when Massey pulled back Crawford and the referee pointed to the spot and sent the defender down the tunnel to reduce Braintree to nine men.
Hyde stepped up to take the penalty looking for fifth goal in five games but Nathan McDonald blocked with his legs to keep the score level.
Braintree made a second substitution after losing their second centre-back but despite their advantage the Bees were unable to break the home side down before the break.
However, it took under 60 seconds for Edgar Davids’ side to break the deadlock after the restart with Marsh-Brown slotting home after McDonald palmed away Jordan Brown’s deflected cross.
The Bees continued to push and with 18 minutes remaining Byrne wrapped up the points with a superb strike from range that flew past the motionless McDonald.
Hyde added a third in added time to score his fifth goal in five games as the Bees move top of the Skrill Premier Table.
