Barnet Football Club are pleased to announce that Nick Jupp has signed a new short-term deal with the club.
Jupp’s current deal was due to expire at the end of the week but the goalkeeper has now extended his time at The Hive.
Jupp isyet to make a first-team appearance but he is hoping to get a taste of the action in next weekend’s FA Cup match against Concord Rangers.
“Hopefully I will get a chance because we’re playing a side from a lower league but the FA Cup is obviously a massive competition no matter what stage.
“I’m not sure what the management what will do but if called upon I will be ready to give my all.”
The Bees face Concord in the fourth qualifying round and Jupp explained that he would love an opportunity to play at The Hive.
“Our stadium is excellent and having sat on the bench for the start of the season it would be great to get out there."
Graham Stack is currently first choice but Jupp is happy to remain patient for the chance to shine.
“I knew the situation before I joined and although I am used to playing regularly I am happy to wait.
“I have to bide my time and I can’t expect to walk into the team but I will keep working hard and hopefully I will get my chance to shine."
Another party who will be delighted by Jupp’s decision to agree a new deal will be non-latex gloves manufacturers because incredibly the keeper is allergic to regular goalkeeping gloves.
“I’m not sure what it is I’m allergic to but whenever I wear goalie gloves I get rashes on my hands so for the past six years I’ve been wearing non-latex gloves underneath.
“They’re basically like doctors gloves and although it’s very strange I’ve got used to it. One thing I could do with is a sponsorship deal because wearing them every day doesn’t come cheap!”
