How do the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mauricio Isla and Gary Medel prepare for a mouth-watering clash with England at Wembley Stadium? Answer, they train at The Hive.
Last week the Chile national team trained for four days at the home of Barnet Football Club and both coaches and players alike were thoroughly impressed by the facilities on offer.
Portugal, Sweden and five-time World Cup winners Brazil have also graced the glorious pitches at The Hive and we can guarantee they will not be the last.
However unlike previous teams, La Roja’s visit had a defining touch that made it even more special as Tom Donati’s under-18s trained with the international stars all week long.
Edgar Davids was also in attendance and he believes the opportunity to play alongside some of the best players in the world can inspire Barnet’s youngsters to greatness.
“It can be very important for them. I’ve heard some of the stories already and these are international players who can go from zero to 100 miles per hour in a second.
“The younger players will then see what they can work on and they should be inspired because they are up against guys from teams like Barcelona and Juventus.”
He added: “For the club it is very important to have these teams coming here. Obviously it can inspire the youth team because they are seeing great players up close.
"It is also good for the whole neighbourhood as well because it is always nice having superstars playing around the corner from you.”
