Barnet FC today added to their ranks 20-year-old Jordan Brown, a left back who joins to Bees from West Ham United.
The player has experience in League 2 having spells on loan with Crewe Alexandra and Aldershot Town last season with Mark Robson getting his man despite interest from a number of other clubs.
On the signing Head Coach Mark Robson commented: "Jordan is a player I’ve known about for a while now. He’s had a good upbringing at West Ham – both on and off the pitch.
"He is a very promising player and he was unfortunate not to feature more in the West Ham First Team as he played a few times in their pre-season last year. With all the players they brought in he never really got an opportunity. But that can only be a good thing for us as I really want to help him develop and prosper as a Bee and I believe he will do that here.
"I’m very excited to finally get Jordan here as I know there were a few clubs chasing him. I’m glad he chose to come here."
Jordan reveals how he came to join the Bees: " I had a meeting with the Head Coach, who knew me from my time at West Ham, and after seeing his enthusiasm for this club to do well it was a major part in me wanting to play for him. He explained to me the direction the club is aiming to go and the style of football we plan to play and I liked the sound of it."
Of his experience he adds: "Coming through the Youth System at West Ham helped me play good football – we’re expected to play with the ball at their feet to a decent level. I think it’s also good that I have experience in League 2. I know what it takes to do well in this league."
How would he desribe himslef to Barnet supporters? "I’m an attacking full back, I like to get forward and get crosses into the box. I’m pretty quick, too."
