ON THE ROAD TO ALDERSHOT

The Bees travel to Aldershot tomorrow seeking their first victory of the season that Head Coach Mark Robson is confident will provide the spark to ignite Barnet’s season.
The second-half display and the three goals conceded at Bradford on Saturday was a major disappointment not least for the players and the 70 Barnet loyalists who had travelled to the fixture. However, the first-half at Bradford was perhaps the best Barnet have played this season.
With the exception of the opportunity that John Oster provided with a back-pass to Alan Connell, the Bantams were largely kept at bay and did provide an attacking threat of their own, partly through the impressive display of Academy graduate Jamal Lowe.
The consensus in the Press Box was that the home side was fortunate to be on level terms come the half-time whistle.
And Mark Robson has chosen to focus on these elements which he hopes can be successfully carried forward to the game at the Recreation Ground tomorrow evening.
“We’ll be taking the positives from the first half at Valley Parade with us into the game at Aldershot when we defended and attacked well against a strong Bradford side.
“We clearly need to show this kind of form from the first to the final whistle at Aldershot and we’ll be hoping this will get us our first win; which when it comes will kick start our season.
“Jamal Lowe made his senior first team start and did very well on the day, I’m confident he will grow and develop throughout the season.
“We need to roll our sleeves up and show togetherness,” concludes the Head Coach.
If you are unable to make the midweek trek to the Rec, Karl Bates and David Bloomfield will be doing their best to bring you the match-action via Barnet Player.
