Barnet go to Brisbane Road tonight in the 2nd Round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy (Southern Section) in a competition where last season the Bees reached the regional Final stage.
The progress and interest in this competition which lasted from August through until the defeat over two legs against Swindon Town the following February was a welcome relief from the mixed-bag of results in the league campaign last season.
Last time around the Bees generally played the strongest team available but we will need to wait until 6 o’clock tonight to see how Head Coach Mark Robson will play his hand.
However, Jack Saville and Jon Fortune are likely candidates for a place in the starting line-up.
Mark Robson said today, “We plan to attack the game in the right way, deliver a good performance and keep the momentum going from our good display on Saturday at Southend.
“I’ll certainly be selecting a side that I feel is capable of winning the tie and every game is important to us”.
The game will kick-off at 7.00 pm and if you are unable to make the cup-tie Barnet Player will be there to bring you a match commentary, although the early start means that Karl Bates will not be able to bring you his expert commentary due to his 9-5 work commitments.
