BARNET FC ACADEMY STRUCTURE
Barnet Football Club has a proud tradition of developing young footballers and providing opportunities for talented players to progress towards the professional game.
Â
The Barnet FC Academy operates as a Category 4 Academy within the English Football League’s Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), providing a professional environment for talented young players to continue their football and personal development.
Â
Our objective is simple: to identify, develop and prepare talented young players for the demands of senior and professional football, while supporting their development away from the pitch.
Our Academy operates within the Professional Development Phase, providing young players with the opportunity to develop within a full-time professional football environment.
Players combine a structured football programme with their continued education through our partnership with Canons High School.
The programme is designed to prepare players technically, tactically, physically and psychologically for the demands of senior football.
Academy players train regularly within the professional environment at The Hive London, with development monitored by our Academy staff throughout their time with the Club.
The Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) is the framework governing the development of young players within professional football academies in England.
Academies are independently assessed and classified from Category 1 to Category 4, with each category operating within requirements covering areas such as coaching, player development, education, safeguarding, medical provision, recruitment and the games programme.
Barnet FC operates a Category 4 Academy, providing a professional development environment and a pathway towards senior football.
The Academy works within the EFL’s Youth Development Rules and EPPP requirements, ensuring players receive an appropriately structured programme both on and off the pitch.
