The Club can confirm that Owen Evans has completed a move to National League Side Altrincham.
The 29-year-old joined the Bees on loan from Cheltenham Town in January last year and made his debut in a 0-0 stalemate away at Forest Green Rovers, keeping a clean sheet on his first start.
The Welshman went on to make a further 17 appearances in the second-half of our 2024/25 National League title-winning campaign, recording an additional 12 clean sheets and helping Dean Brennan’s side to a historic 102 points.
Owen made the move to the capital permanent last summer and went on to represent the Bees six more times in all competitions across the 2025/26 campaign, including 3 appearances in our first season in League Two for seven years following our return to the EFL.
Owen always carried himself professionally, made crucial saves in crucial moments and was an infectious character to be around in the dressing room.
On Owen’s departure, Manager Dean Brennan said:
“We want to thank Owen for his time with us. He’s of course part of the 102 club and his name is etched in Barnet Football Club history.
He was a great addition to the side that won the 2024/25 National League title and we wish him well at his next club.”
Everyone would like to thank Owen for his contributions in black and amber and wish him success going forward.
Once a Bee, always a Bee.
