Following discussions, we can confirm that Barnet Football Club and Joe Kizzi have mutually agreed to terminate their contract with immediate effect.
The 32-year-old joined the Bees in May 2024 from Sutton United and went on to make 32 appearances in black and amber, scoring two goals.
Kizzi made 12 appearances at the start of the club’s National League title-winning campaign and provided two assists, before being cruelly ruled out of action for an extended period of time with a back injury.
On his return to fitness last year, the defender spent a short while out on loan with Enfield Town, before rejoining Dean Brennan’s squad.
Joe returned to the squad in December and went on to make 19 appearances in the second-half of the 2025/26 campaign, starting 11 of those games and contributing to six clean sheets in the process.
The most memorable moment came on New Year’s Day, where he scored a brace to help the Bees overcome Crawley Town on home soil. The defender latched onto an early Mark Shelton corner to put the Bees ahead at The Hive, before netting what proved to be the winner in the 76th minute.
On what it’s been like to work with Joe over the past couple of years, Dean Brennan said:
“Joe is the ultimate professional and did a great job for the team, helping upgrade us when he was asked to step in, especially last season.
He was unlucky with his back injury and the operation, but he was a great leader, a great guy, a real family man and we wish him well down at Hornchurch.
I want to thank him for all his efforts and his professionalism, how he conducted himself around the place and how he set examples around the football club which is what was needed at the time.”
Everyone would like to thank Joe for his contributions in black and amber and wish him success moving forward.
