Yesterday afternoon, Barnet’s Walking Football team proudly gathered with its partners, Dementia UK for their Christmas celebrations at Copthall Leisure Centre.
The groups were joined by Bees’ Captains Anthony Hartigan and Danny Collinge, as well as Mark Shelton, Joe Hugill and Romoney Crichlow.
They also welcomed a Barnet fan, who has funded many of their events over the years, the Dr French Foundation and Trish Darby, a Tesco community champion who has helped the group throughout the year.
There was plenty of food, dancing, live music and of course a visit from Santa Claus, all to help spread some festive joy within the community, at what can be a difficult time of year for so many people and for so many reasons.
The Walking Football team would like to thank Dean Brennan and Kirk Rayment for their amazing support in providing First Team players for the event, as well as Foundation Manager, Aleksander Czerniec.
Walking Football is not all about the ball, it’s about the community and the things we do together.
