The young Bees raced into a three-nil lead within 30 minutes as Okem Chime netted a superb hat-trick. 

The visitors pulled one back in the second half through Alex Macallister before Chime added his and the Bees fourth in stoppage time to seal the victory for Senda’s side. 

The head coach was pleased with the attitude of his players and in particular, their first-half showing. 

“What we talked about tonight was plenty of tactical awareness, they are privileged in the sense that we can provide them with so much information. But when it boils down to it you have to have a desire, effort and all those foundations to win any game, I felt tonight they gave us that in bundles”

“On top of that all the technical ability we have in the squad shone through, we were 3-0 up at half time, but it probably could have and should have been more which is pleasing” 

The star of the show was undoubtedly Okem Chime who netted four goals in a great performance under The Hive London lights. 

His boss highlighted how happy he was to see the young striker produce on the big stage. 

“That’s no surprise for us with Okem, he has been firing all season and is one of the top goalscorers in the division.”

“He should be looking to knock on the door of the first team or looking for senior football out on loan, he’s a top player. His third goal where he came in off the line and found the top corner was incredible technique, I am really pleased for him” 

Senda once again reiterated how special the FA Youth Cup is and how it really adds to the experiences that his academy team faces in the early stages of their Bees career. 

“It’s a wonderful tournament for the boy’s development, in terms of the fact they get to play under the lights. There is more of an emphasis on winning, so it certainly helps them grow”

“They can have all the technical attributes they want, but can they do it when there’s a bit pressure on and all eyes are watching. It also gives them that little bit of exposure, if they are fortunate to become professional players.”

The young Bees have been handed another home draw in the First Round Proper, as they’ll wait to find out whether they’ll face Dartford or Dorking Wanderers up next.

Senda was thrilled that his side has another opportunity to show the home supporters exactly what they are capable of. 

“It’s nice that the boys have challenges in our home stadium and it is a wonderful opportunity for them to get used to playing on our home pitch. It means if Darren (Currie) chooses to call them up, it makes it less daunting for the player coming into that environment” 

“It’s great for our home fans to come and see the boys, getting the opportunity to see what the next generation holds. It is wonderful to have another good showing of support tonight and I’m so pleased they were able to show what they are capable of!”
