Match Preview | Maidenhead United

Barnet FC travel to Maidenhead United on Saturday for our final away game of the regular season.

The Bees have already secured their place in the play-offs after Tuesday’s win over Solihull Moors at The Hive. Brennan’s side will now be looking to cement a home fixture for our play-off eliminator.

Maidenhead United are still fighting for their National League status this season with Torquay United who are in the relegation zone just three points behind The Magpies. Despite just 1 win in their last 10 games, Maidenhead have picked up points at York Road against Wrexham and Chesterfield in the last few weeks.

Nickname: The Magpies

Founded: 1870

Ground: York Road

Manager: Alan Devonshire

Top Scorer: Emile Acquah (13)

League Position: 20th

Form: LDDLL

One to Watch: Emile Acquah

Emile Acquah has been the centre point of Maidenhead’s attack this season. Despite Maidenhead being the third lowest scorers in the league, Acquah has scored 13 goals in the league for The Magpies this season making him the joint 14th highest goal scorer in the division.

In the Dugout: Alan Devonshire

The former West Ham United midfielder has spent 8 years as the manager of Maidenhead United. The 67-year-old guided the club out of the National League South in 2017 as champions with The Magpies winning 30 of their 42 league games. Since their promotion, Devonshire has cemented Maidenhead’s place in the National League for the last 6 seasons and will be looking to secure his clubs place in the league for a 7th consecutive season against The Bees on Saturday.
