MATCH PREVIEW | CURZON ASHTON V BARNET FC | FA CUP FIRST ROUND

The Bees return to FA Cup action this weekend as we travel to National League North side Curzon Ashton.

Our FA Cup journey so far

Barnet FC were drawn away to National League South side Aveley FC in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round. Harry Pritchard gave Barnet an early lead at Parkside. The midfielder bagged his and Barnet’s second after twenty minutes. Matt Rush’s overhead kick got a goal back for the hosts just before the break. The home side would then go down to nine men with Charlee Hughes and Garrett Kelly both receiving red cards. That didn’t stop Aveley forcing a replay as Jon Benton scored a 90th minute equaliser.

The replay at The Hive was a more straightforward result with The Bees putting four past Aveley. Nicke Kabamba scored a hat-trick against the National League South side with Harry Pritchard adding the fourth. Brennan’s side will now face National League North opposition in the first round proper as we make the trip to Curzon Ashton.
