The Opposition:

The Coasters have so far struggled in the league with a lack of consistency being one of their key problems, but their form has improved after the appointment of Jim Bentley.

Fylde still remains in the FA Cup despite being one of the lowest-ranked sides in the competition and have been drawn to face Premier League side Sheffield United in the Third Round.

The away sides most recent league fixture saw them run out 1-0 winners over Wrexham with Danny Philliskirk’s 30^th minute goal being the decisive factor in gaining all three points for the Coasters.

 

The Gaffer: Jim Bentley

A centre-back, Jim Bentley spent his youth career with Manchester City before making his debut for Telford United where he spent five years. In 2002, Bentley moved to Morecambe where he made just under 300 appearances and was made player-manager in 2011.

 

In June 2018, Bentley became the longest-serving manager in the top four tiers of English football until he resigned from his position to become the manager of AFC Fylde where has won four and only lost once in the seven games he has managed.

 

One to Watch: Danny Rowe 

Danny Rowe, having only signed in 2014, is AFC Fylde’s record all-time goalscorer and still impresses week-in week-out with his performances for his local side.

After being promoted with the Coasters to the National League, the step-up was certainly not too much for him to handle as he scored an impressive 24 goals in all competitions.

This season, Rowe has scored 8 goals in all competitions and will be a tough test for the Bees defence.
