Martin: “We’re all looking forward to it”

Good morning.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow night’s game at The Hive.

We picked up a few knocks on Saturday so there will be people that we need to assess and give fitness tests to, right up until the last minute on Tuesday evening.

I thought overall it was a good performance from our players and our squad against Wycombe.

Everyone put in a good shift and we had enough chances, having reviewed the game on the DVD.

We had plenty of scoring opportunities but we didn’t manage to get that all important goal.

They scored with what was only their second shot of the game -it was an amazing strike on the turn from 25 yards.

It was a strike that he’ll probably never be able to do again in the rest of his life!

Sometimes you’ve got to hold your hands up and dust yourself down.

We gave as good as we got against a team that were in the play-off final last season.

I thought that it was a terrific performance, but we just weren’t able to convert the chances that we had.

We knew these tests were going to be coming along; we knew that it would be difficult at times, but it’s how you face it, walk through it and deal with it that counts.

These players are a great bunch of lads – you can tell from training this morning that everyone can’t wait for the game against Northampton now.

They had a fantastic end to last season and nearly made the playoffs.

Chris Wilder is a fantastic manager who’s got a really good team together, and I fully expect them to be right up in that top 7 come the end of the season.

So it’s another really big test for us, and we’re all looking forward to it.

Martin.
