Uli Landvreugd was pleased following Barnet’s late 1-0 win over Tamworth at The Hive.

Luisma Villa’s 80th minute strike means the Bees have won two out of two since Landvreugd and fellow Dutchman Dick Schreuder took charge.

Speaking post-match Landvreugd explained that Barnet should have scored a second admitting the Bees deserved more from the game.

“I think it (the final score) was harsh. We deserved the second goal but I know that you don’t get anything for free.

“It was hard to create the first goal but we got some more space and we should have scored the second.

“We had a couple of disallowed goals but overall it was good.”

The Bees had Nick Jupp to thank in the first-half after he stopped Justin Richards’ penalty, the Dutchman praised the goalkeeper but believes the initial decision was harsh.

“They were both in the 18 yard box and they ran into each other. I thought it was shoulder against shoulder.

“I thought it was a fair shoulder but the referee was closer. From my view it wasn’t but I am sure he saw it better than me.”

He continued: “You could say we were a little bit lucky but the quality of Nicky in training shows he stops a lot of penalties,” Landvreugd said.

“So we were happy with a 0-0. But in the second half we played a little bit sharper.”

The fixture was Barnet’s first in three weeks due to consecutive postponements against Macclesfield Town and Forest Green Rovers and Landvreugd praised the ground staff at The Hive for ensuring the match went ahead.

“The pitch was really good and that is a big compliment for The Hive,” he said.

“We want to play. Some games were cancelled and that maybe benefited us a little bit with some players coming back.

“But we always want to play and we are already looking forward to the next game on Tuesday.”
