The defender has been on trial with the Club for the last 10 days and has impressed gaffer Peter Beadle with both his performances in both training and matches. 

McQueen shared his happiness in making the move to North London and has high aspirations for the upcoming campaign. 

“I’m absolutely delighted to have got it done, I have been here over a week now and I have been getting to know all of the boys. It’s a great place to be and I think we will do really well this season.

“I’ve enjoyed my time working for the gaffer so far, I am just getting to grips with the way he wants to play and how he wants to do things. I think importantly all the boys are on board.”

Our new defender comes to The Hive London having most recently played for fellow National League side Dagenham and Redbridge where he made 58 appearances during his two-year spell with the club. 

The full-back can also play in midfield too and believes he can bring plenty to Beadle’s side with both his attributes and versatility. 

“I’m a good ballplayer first and foremost and I like to defend and attack. I like to get assists at one end and stop crosses at the other! The most important thing is to do well for the team. 

“I don’t really mind where I play, as long as the team is winning. I’ll do whatever I am asked to do and I’ll just take each game as it comes.”

McQueen’s season was cut short last year, following the curtailment of the National League in March as the COVID-19 pandemic ground football to a halt. 

By the time we host Eastleigh next Saturday, it would have been just over six months since his last competitive game and McQueen cannot wait to get back out there into the thick of National League football again. 

“Being locked up has been boring! It has been really good to get back to training every day and playing in matches again. I am really hoping that the season gets going. 

“I think the fans are such a big part of each game and the Club. The sooner we get our fans back into the ground, the better really. In the meantime, I’m going to do what I can to make them proud.”
