The Bees visit the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham Stadium to take on Dagenham & Redbridge in an npower League 2 fixture tomorrow (Saturday) with the game having a 3 o’clock kick-off.

Barnet have found points hard to come by at Victoria Road in recent years with the Bees often having difficulty coping with the attacking threat posed by the Daggers. The latest reversal being last season’s comprehensive 3-0 Boxing Day drubbing.

The Daggers are sitting comfortably in 14th position and have a home record that is on par with teams in the play-off positions. They have suffered only two home defeats this season, one against runaway league leaders Gillingham and the other against Northampton back in mid-September.

In their ten league home games this season they have conceded a mere eight goals so with the Bees having won just one game on the road so far the season the size of the task cannot be under-estimated.

Barnet’s last away game ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat at Cheltenham Town with the Bees being denied a point in the dying moments when a Clovis Kamdjo header hit the woodwork.

Joint Head Coach Edgar Davids, in a positive mood, says of the fixture, “This Saturday we have another tough game ahead.  We hope to continue to build on the progress we showed during the first half of the AFC Wimbledon match and bring back three points for our fans.”

During the Wimbledon game, with Barnet enjoying a 1-0 lead the Bees were actually out of the relegation zone, but when all the final scores were compiled they ended the day as they had started it. Indicative as to how tight it is getting at this end of the table.

All being well, the impressive Krystian Pearce should continue to partner David Stephens in defence, the former playing the final game of his loan spell with the Bees. However, Pearce was quoted in midweek saying there was “a definite possibility” of a return to Underhill.

After missing seven matches John Oster may return to the fray with Edgar Davids stating that “it’s nice to see the midfielder back training with the first team.”

The Bees usually take a sizeable and vocal following to this fixture, but if you are unable to attend in person Barnet Player will be offering full match commentary with Karl Bates heading up the commentary team.
