Currie “We have to dust ourselves down quickly”

Speaking after his side’s frustrating 2-1 home defeat to Bromley, Currie highlighted how Saturday’s clash with the Cards is now a huge game for his side.

“Tonight (Tuesday) just makes it bigger, we knew we were coming into two important home games and losing means there’s even more pressure on Saturday”

“We have to dust ourselves down quickly, look at the positives and move on. But the two major disappointments from the evening are the set pieces, we have to better than that”

The Bees started the game with the Ravens well and opened the scoring through Josh Walker, before missing a hatful of chances to double their advantage.

They were duly punished as Bromley made the most of some slack defending to profit with two goals from set-pieces.

The boss felt his side have to be more clinical at both ends of the pitch and emphasised the fact his side should have been comfortably ahead before the visitors equalised.

“The game should have been out of sight, once we went 1-0 up I felt we started the game really positively, we put some good balls into the box and looked promising going forward”

“People were gambling off of Alfie (Pavey) and things fell for us, we rightfully took the lead, we should have been two or three ahead, but then we conceded and it deflated us”

“It’s just so frustrating because it’s two set pieces that have let us down, other than that I thought we were pretty comfortable in the game. We were not clinical enough at one end and didn’t defend set-pieces at the other and we’ve ended up on the wrong side of the result tonight”

The Bees will look to return to winning ways this Saturday and don’t forget BFC Members can bring a friend free of charge.
