Barnet 1-3 Woking

Two defensive errors proved costly for Barnet as Woking ended the Bees’ five match winning streak with a 1-3 win at The Hive.
Josh Payne opened the scoring with 24 minutes played but Curtis Weston levelled just two minutes later.
Woking retook the lead through Scott Rendell via the spot with 31 minutes played after Nick Jupp brought down John Goddard with Rendell securing the points with his second in the 90th minute.
Barnet started well with Weston shooting wide before Aaron Howe saved well at his near post to deny Charlie Adams.
Dani Lopez was tasked with leading the line for the Bees in Jake Hyde’s absence and he went close midway through the first-half cutting in from the right and shooting wide.
With 24 minutes played Woking took the lead against the run of play when Mark Byrne failed to clear allowing Payne to finish from close-range.
The Cards’ lead lasted just two minutes with Weston chasing down a long ball forward and rounding Howe before firing the ball into the empty net.
With 32 minutes played the away side retook the lead through Rendell via the spot after Jupp fouled Goddard in the box.
Barnet once again responded well to going a goal down but Howe was on form once more to turn Lopez’s low strike round the post.
Mauro Vilhete and Jon Nurse were introduced with 54 minutes played replacing Mark Byrne and Ahmed Abdulla but the Bees attacking-intent allowed Woking chance after chance on the break.
With 68 minutes played Andy Yiadom did tremendously to head Kevin Betsy’s strike off the line before captain David Stephens threw himself in front of Goddard’s goal bound strike.
The Bees best chance to level flew millimetres wide of the post as Weston glanced a header wide from an excellent Charlie Adams’ cross.
The Bees continued to push but Woking remained solid at the back as Barnet suffered their first defeat under Uli Landvreugd and Dick Schreuder.Â
