Assistant Manager: Gary Whild

As announced last week, Gary joins up as Tim’s assistant, he will support Tim with training and all other aspects of coaching the First Team going forward. The two have previously worked together at Solihull Moors and Kidderminster, which bolsters the overall dynamic of our coaching set up.

Bees fans will be able to hear from Whild in an exclusive interview on Live From The Hive, in the build-up to the match with Maidenhead United.

Goalkeeper Coach: Darren Acton

Acton joins up as full-time Goalkeeper Coach for the First Team and replaces Rhys Evans in this department. Acton will be tasked with working with First Team Goalkeepers, Scott Loach and Aymen Azaze. He will support scholars James Callan and Alfie Marigliani with their development as young goalkeeper’s.

Our new goalkeeper coach previously worked in the same role at both Solihull Moors and AFC Telford United in recent years. The 47-year-old also enjoyed a playing career at the likes of Burton Albion, Nuneaton and Solihull Moors.

In what is a newly created role at the Club, following Tim Flowers’ arrival, Anderson will be responsible for the conditioning, health, medicines and anything related to improving physical performance amongst the First Team squad. Anderson boasts a proven track record in his role and still supports Team GB in their preparations for the Tokyo Olympics. Our new Head of Performance also has vast experience in this role at a number of Football League Clubs, he also previously spent time with the bees in the 1990s and now returns to the Club.

This move from the Bees, should help benefit the players conditioning and physical welfare during their time with the Club. It’ll allow the players to be shared knowledge of all aspects of physical performance, which in turn should reduce risk of injury and allow for optimum output out there on the pitch.

The arrival of Anderson proves to highlight the Clubs continued ambition of growth following the arrival of Flowers. It further enhances the medical knowledge on-site at The Hive London, which will only benefit the First Team Squad heading into a busy 2021 with plenty of fixtures still to play.

There’ll be an extended interview with Gary following the busy Christmas period.

Dimitris Michtatidis – Senior Physiopherapist

Dimitris replaces Luigi Cerullo as Senior Physiotherapist for Barnet FC. Luigi will continue to work within the set up at TIC Health, but First Team responsibilities have been passed over to Dimitris going forward. He will work alongside Gary Anderson and the rest of the coaching staff, to look after all player welfare in regards to injury. Dimi also plays a big part in continuing the Clubs safety during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Dan Hutchings: Head of Performance Analysis:

Hutchings will continue in his role as Head of Performance Analysis, a role he has held for six seasons at The Hive London. His job allows the players to gain insight into their performance out there on the pitch, as well as supporting the coaching staff with opposition reports, instructions and analysis ahead of our fixtures.

Speaking on his newly formed backroom staff, Tim Flowers said:

“The backroom set up is something I immediately wanted to improve when I arrived at the Club. I have to give credit to the Chairman in his support with creating this new set up, in particular, the investment we are now putting into the Sports Science side. This will allow the players to receive the very best support on and off the pitch, giving them the best tools in place to go and perform on a matchday.

“I feel this newly formed set up is the first big step in the right direction to us turning our season around. I want to thank all the current staff for the support I have been given since my arrival and I look forward to us all moving forward as a team.”
