Barnet: The Bees’ display against Newport County (3-0) was one of their best away performance of the season, so Martin Allen’s men should be confident ahead of Saturday’s clash with the Minstermen. Barnet have won five of their last ten matches, and have picked up points in eight of those encounters. The Bees are now unbeaten in four away games, and are currently third in the form table (based on the last ten matches).

York City: The Minstermen have lost their last five games, and find themselves in 23rd place – inside the League Two relegation zone. They have the worst goal difference in the division, and are currently five points adrift of safety – having played three more games than 22nd place Hartlepool United. However they have gained ten points in their last ten matches (20th in the form table), and have 18 points from 17 home matches this season.

In The Dugout: Former Celtic defender  Jackie McNamara has been in the Bootham Crescent dugout since November 2015. The Scottish coach began his managerial career at Partick Thistle – leading the Jags to the Challenge Cup final and 2nd place in the First Division, before leaving to take charge of Dundee United. McNamara spent two and a half seasons at Tannadice; reaching the League Cup and FA Cup finals, as well as achieving a 4th place SPL finish. However the Tangerines struggled at the beginning of this season, and he was replaced by Mixu Paatelainen. Two months later McNamara was named as manager of York City.

Dangerman: Barnet will be wary of the physical threat posed by York’s  Vadaine Oliver. The 6ft 2in target man rose to prominence with Conference side Lincoln City back in 2012-13; he scored 11 goals in his debut season for The Imps. Oliver’s performances earnt him a move to League One Crewe Alexandra. He struggled to cement his place in the Railwaymen’s first team, but scored a further seven goals when on loan at Mansfield down during the 2014-15 season. The 23-year-old’s performances at Field Mill attracted the attention of York City, who he joined in the summer.

Last Meeting: The Bees beat York City 3-1 when the teams played each other earlier this season. The match was goalless at half time, but John Akinde broke the deadlock in the 59th minute to put Barnet ahead. Michael Coulson levelled things up for York in the 80th minute, but the Bees immediately re-took the lead through Michael Gash. Josh Clarke’s last minute goal made sure of the points.
