Manager: John Sheridan has been the manager at Argyle since January 2013. The English-born Republic of Ireland international made over 700 first team appearances in a mammoth 22 year playing career, the vast majority for Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and Oldham Athletic. He has international caps and has played in two World Cup squads. Sheridan became coach at Oldham in December 2003, taking over the managerial reins in June 2006 from Ronnie Moore before joining Chesterfield in 2009.

Brief Directions by Road: From the end of the M5 the A38 is the road into Plymouth. The signposts for Home Park are abundant and almost plead your interest. Stay on the A38 until you can turn left onto A386. You will see the ground on your left and the car park is adjacent to it. It is that simple as that!

Car Parking: The “first come first served car parks” are free but are full about 45 minutes before kick-off normally. Street parking is available further on from the ground on the A386 but access is from the opposite carriageway.

Directions by Train: An early morning train from Paddington will reach Plymouth by lunchtime. The station is a good 20 minute walk away from the ground through the very picturesque Home Park, once again signs beckon you towards the stadium.

Supporters’ Coaches: The official club coach will leave the Pavilion at 7.45am and the full ticket price is £25 with concessions available. The Pavilion will be open from 6.15am for pre-journey refreshments.  Discounts on travel are available for season ticket holders and club members. Eating and Drinking Locally: The Britannia in Wolseley Road, which is the local Whetherspoons outlet appears to be the only decent pub for a drink and a meal, it is a short 10 minute walk from the ground. Alcohol is served inside the ground as is the normal football fayre. 

Ground Description: Home Park is now a mix of 21st century efficiency with 3 new stands and the beauty and craft of one of the few surviving Archibald Leitch designed grandstands of the 1930s. The stadium currently has room for around 22,000.

Admission Prices: Adults £10, Aged 65 and over £10, U18s £5. U18s can go free in Family Stand when accompanied by a paying adult and producing a copy of the local paper, "The Herald" which will be sold outside the turnstiles.

Overnight Stay Factor: Any game on a weekend this far away from home attracts that stay over feeling and Plymouth as a town is steeped in history, mostly Naval of course. I award 8/10
