Davids: “We Have Nothing To Lose”

Edgar Davids believes Barnet have nothing to lose when they face Preston North End in the FA Cup with Budweiser this weekend.
The Lilywhites are currently fourth in Sky Bet League One but according to Davids a shock is possible.
Speaking ahead of the trip to Deepdale the head-coach explained that he hopes to see his side put in a good performance against a strong Preston side.
“It’s good to go to Preston and we are the underdogs so we have nothing to lose.
“I hope we put on a good performance and I think that we will see how tough we are against a very good team.”
Many believe the draw couldn’t be much worse for the Bees but Davids was pleased to get a League One side after seeing Barnet impress in pre-season against MK Dons and Ipswich Town.
“If they play their best they may outplay us but in pre-season we played higher level teams who didn’t outplay us.
“It will be a good test and I’m happy we are playing against a team in League One.
Davids has now served a three-match ban and although he has an on-going ankle injury which cannot be identified he could feature on Saturday.
“It’s a very strange injury to my ankle. I went to specialists all over and they still don’t really know what the problem is.
“I need to have a few more scans this week and hopefully we will have some more insight. If you know the injury you can put a timescale on it but if you don’t it is worrying.”
Carl Fletcher is also likely to miss out along with Luisma Villa who was sent off in the 98th minute against Kidderminster Harriers and Davids explained why.
“Carl Fletcher had a minor problem last weekend and could return but Luisma will be missing because of a silly red card.
“Luisma thought it was the end and the funny thing is that it was. I was with the fourth official and he said it was time, so did Luisma but instead the referee played for an extra two minutes when his fourth official said it was time.”
