The Bees take on Burton Albion this evening at Underhill, the game kicking-off at 8 o’clock.
After missing the last eight matches and after training with the first team all week hopes are high that John Oster will be available for this evening’s crucial fixture.
The former Wales international midfielder was in a good run of form before he was sidelined and was linking the elements of the team together with plenty of skill and guile.
He was also beginning to form a good partnership with Edgar Davids and it will be interesting to see if this pairing will be reunited this evening.
Centre-back Krystian Pearce has returned to his parent club Notts County with Stevenage loanee Andy Iro favourite to partner David Stephens in defence.
By Mark Robson’s own admittance the Bees did not get out of the traps at Dagenham & Redbridge last week and he has called for the players to roll up their sleeves and produce “a performance that warrants three points.”
Edgar Davids also has expressed his dissatisfaction at the display at Victoria Road and has clearly indicated that there would be changes on a number of fronts. He has not publicly discussed the matter further although the team selection and the tactics they deploy will provide the clearest of indications.
Last season’s visit by Burton and their 6-3 victory was a calamity for the Bees and led to a number of loan signings joining the club, notably Michael Hector and Paul Downing who went on to form a solid looking partnership at the heart of the defence.
Keeper Graham Stack speaks in his article in tonight’s programme of how he hopes the Bees can go on a number short runs of 4 or 5 games where some good results are picked up. He is convinced that by doing so it is possible to quickly climb the table.
In tonight’s programme as well as Graham Stack talking about when he was scouted by a host of clubs as an outfield player in his youth, there are features by Mark Robson, Paul Fairclough, a Reckless examination of the career of Albert Adomah, detailed analysis of our visitors, guides to the next two away matches, quality photographs and enough statistics to impress Tim Berners-Lee. All for £3, the perfect accompaniment to tonight’s match says the impartial Editor.
If you are unable to be at Underhill tonight then Karl Bates via the Barnet Player service will be on hand to provide full match commentary.
