Oldham’s wheelchair section is at the front of the away stand, at pitch level. Wheelchair supporters are advised that entry is via Gate 9, located on the opposite side of the stand to the turnstiles. This gate can be accessed by entering via the Joe Royle Stand car park – postcode OL2 5BL.

Boundary Park is now a cashless stadium which includes turnstiles, car parking and kiosks.

Car parking will be available to pre-book at https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/tickets/carparking

Away supporters are advised to use the NHS car park which is located behind B&Q and is a short walk from the stadium.

Wheelchair users are advised to book disabled parking on the Joe Royle Stand car park.

Tickets will remain available online up until kick-off on matchday, allowing supporters ample time to purchase their seats.

Tonight the Bees play their first competitive fixture of the season in the Carabao Cup Preliminary Round against Newport County at the Hive Stadium, with kick off at 7:30pm. If you still haven’t got your ticket, grab it here!

The EFL Cup Preliminary Round was introduced this season to accommodate all nine European clubs in the Premier League – with Barnet, Newport, Oldham and Accrington Stanley having to compete in an initial knockout round as a result.

It’ll be our first outing in the trophy since a valiant defeat against Brighton back in the summer of 2017.

Manager Dean Brennan gave us his pre-match thoughts:

“I think the recognition of being back in the EFL is a great achievement.”

“The carrot for both teams is to get Millwall in the next round, to play a Championship side.”

“It’s been a long summer, but our season starts today – simple as that. Now, the real business starts.”

While the Bees enjoyed a historic title win last season, our opponents had a disappointing campaign under Nelson Jardim, finishing 23rd in League Two, seven points above relegated Carlisle United, and will be looking for serious improvement under new boss David Hughes.

Hughes, appointed in May 2025, signed a two-and-a-half year deal at the Exiles, vacated his role as coach and assistant manager at Manchester United U21s to join the Welsh side.

He spoke to their club website ahead of today’s cup fixture:

“We’re really excited to get the season up and running. Barnet have recently got promoted so they’re going into this game with the momentum from last season, which we have to be aware of.”

Barnet have NEVER lost to Newport in the league, but the Exiles have had the better of the Bees in recent cup competitions.

The last time the Bees faced Newport at the Hive was an evening to forget; a 4-1 defeat to the Exiles in December 2023, with the bulk of the damage coming in the first half.

Dean Brennan’s Champions will be looking to avenge that defeat with a big performance tonight – get your ticket now and support the lads!

NNAMDI OFOBORH BOLSTERS BEES

We’re thrilled to announce that 25-year-old midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh has signed for the Bees.

Describing his decision to join Barnet as an “easy one”, Nnamdi adds even more talent to Dean Brennan’s already strong midfield unit.

Having played at Millwall as a youth, Nnamdi signed his first pro deal at Bournemouth in 2017, winning Young Player of the Season.

Nnamdi made three appearances for the Cherries (also making the bench for two Premier League games) before being loaned out to Wycombe Wanderers.

He scored his first professional goal in the League One playoff semi-final for the Chairboys, also appearing in the final that year as Wycombe achieved promotion to the Championship.

After achieving a move to Rangers, Nnamdi inspirationally overcame health challenges that precluded him from playing a game for the Glasgow outfit – going on to make a triumphant full-time return to football with Swindon Town, for whom he played 41 times, scoring two goals.

In his first Barnet interview, Nnamdi described his playing style:

“I do whatever job needs to be done – if it’s defensive, or trying to get into the box – whatever works for the team I’m willing to do it.”

“I think I’m really good technically, and [in] trying to control the tempo of a game. I also bring a leadership and communication aspect that is very vital and holds a lot of value, especially in stadiums and big matches.”

“I had a long time out and thankfully to God I’m back playing, and every time I get the opportunity to do so, that’s all I want to do.”

On “man-like Nnamdi”, Dean Brennan described his new signing:

“Physical, athletic, dynamic, defensive type midfielder player – good in both boxes.

“Good game understanding and a good schooling, that defensive player we’ve been looking for a couple of seasons now.”

“He’s got a lot of calibre, the kid, and I think it’s a real good signing for us.”

The deal is subject to the usual FA and League clearances.

The Bees famously beat Wycombe 1-0 in the final game at Underhill on 20th April 2013 – a late goal from Jake Hyde and a heroic Graham Stack penalty save sealing all three points for the Bees.

We last played the Chairboys in a friendly at The Hive all the way back in 2019, the game ending in a 1-1 draw with Dan Sparkes the Bees goalscorer.

The last time Barnet beat Wycombe was at Adams Park back in October 2016 thanks to goals from Mauro Vilhete and John Akinde.

Wycombe’s head coach Mike Dodds took charge in February 2020, replacing Matt Bloomfield who took up the Luton Town managerial position, leading them to the League One play-off semi finals, but coming unstuck against Charlton Athletic.

The lads have held their own against League One opposition, beating Leyton Orient 2-0 in a BCD friendly on Saturday.
