Barnet FC are running open trials for Under 16 players to gain a two-year BTEC Diploma in Sport by joining their College Football Development Program.
The trials will take place on Thursday 19th February between 14:00 and 16:00 on the 3G pitches at The Hive, and will be open to all Year 11 players born between September 1st 1998 and August 31st 1999.
This is an exciting opportunity to complete a two-year, practical work-related course starting in September that covers all aspects of the sports industry, health, safety, nutrition and preparation alongside a football programme involving both practical and theory sessions run by the Barnet FC Academy.
We are looking for athletic individuals with a reasonable amount of playing experience and a keen desire to play at a higher level.
To be eligible, players must also have five GCSEs at Grade C or above including English and Maths to complete a Level 3 course or five GCSEs at Grade F or above including English and Maths to complete a Level 2 course.
This is a one-off chance to join up with Barnet FC in the pursuit of both sporting and academic excellence, with the added bonus of having the chance to progress through the club’s Youth System all the way to the first team.
We have between 20 and 24 places available, so if this sounds like you or somebody that you know be sure to register for the trials at The Hive by clicking here.
All attending trialists will receive a complimentary match ticket for Barnet FC first team fixture at home to Grimsby Town on Saturday 21st February upon completion of the trial.
The online trial registration fee of £100.00 acts as a part-registration payment to show your willingness to participate in the college programme. This must be paid online to complete the pre-trial registration process.
Please note that for the college programme there will be a £200 fee that will act as a contribution to the playing and training kit you will be provided with upon commence of the course in September 2015. Â
The college programme places will be offered based on online registration, payment of the £100 part-registration fee and participation in two football trials.
Accordingly, should an individual subsequently change their mind after accepting a programme spot, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances other than players not being selected because they have not met the required playing standards or if the applicant fails to meet the required educational qualifications for programme entry. There are no exceptions to this rule.
There are no changing rooms provided for this event so please arrive ready to play. Please note that this trial will take place on astro-turf so please wear appropriate footwear. Please arrive promptly from 13:30 for registration.
