“We huffed and puffed today without the ball and kept the ball for keep sake, but with very little end product and ruthlessness. We did press as well as we have done in previous games but didn’t recover quick enough in our transition phase.
“It’s important to remember that these results won’t define our season, win, lose or draw. We have to stick to our game plan and not move away from it as it has high standards, work ethic and accountability.”
As a group we have to learn from today and make sure that we’ll be back in Monday to go again and get back to working hard and fulfilling our game plan.
When asked what positives can be taken from today’s game, Rossi responded “Shaquile played 60 minutes, with 6 shots out of 6 on target and I know Shaquile will get sharper and bring a huge amount to the team.
“Young Justin’s (Amaluzor) goal was excellent providing some excellent link up play and scoring an excellent goal.
“We’ve come through with no injuries and players got more minutes in the bank.”
The game was a battle against the elements with persistent heavy rain throughout, but Eames was quick to downplay the effect the weather had.
“Whether it is sunshine or showers, they’ve got to play our game of football – it’s as simple as that. Both teams have to play in those conditions, the main thing is Concord did it better than us today.”
Barnet’s attentions will now turn to Forest Green Rovers away next week, but Rossi Eames wont be making any changes to his sides preparation following today’s result.
“We will carry on with the same plan that we have for the past five weeks and we’ll make sure the boys are fresh.
“There have been lots and lots of positives that we have seen over the last five weeks and we won’t get carried away with today’s result, or those over last five weeks. It’s just important that we learn and move on as that is the beauty of football… that there is always another game.”
