Barnet Football Club is consulting on the development of South Underhill, which will help pave the way to creating a sporting venue that can satisfy the growing demand and enable us to compete at the highest level. The plans also set out our commitment to the local community, creating a destination that can be enjoyed all-year round.

Feedback from our local community, organisations, fans, and followers is needed to help shape the designs and help inform our plans for the ground. Your thoughts and ideas will help develop the scheme that will be submitted for planning later in 2024. We want the development to celebrate our Club's heritage, whilst creating an open, dynamic ground for the community and the fans for an exciting future that reaches beyond just football.

Your overall views

The ambitious plan to relocate Barnet FC back into the Borough of Barnet will begin with construction estimated to start 2025-2026.

This includes:

A community stadium with a capacity of 7,000. Four new Multi Use Games Areas (‘MUGAs’) will be provided to the north-east of the site.
Six pitches to the south of the site will also be provided. These will comprise three full 11-a-side pitches and three smaller 7-a-side pitches.
A new pavilion with changing facilities is also proposed on the southern part of the site.

There will be a community use agreement in place for the pitches that will allow for free use for The Ark Pioneer Academy and discounted use for certain community groups and other schools.

The Club are proposing a significant investment in sporting infrastructure across the site.
The Club envisage the infrastructure being used by various groups within the local community, as is currently the case at its
facility at The Hive London in Harrow.

Underhill - a community destination

We want to foster a thriving community unique to Underhill that provides opportunities for fans and the community to visit outside of matchdays.

Underhill will be a brand-new destination venue and community space.

It will be a destination for all to use; a calming space for visitors, an active area for sports and activities and an event space for
training and education.

Transport

We know from the fans and the community so we are working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop a transport strategy which will be submitted as part of the planning application.

We need your feedback to understand what you would like to see implemented that would improve travel to/from and around the stadium on matchdays.

We know the majority of fans travel to games by car and usually park in on-street free locations, which puts pressure on residential streets.

We are looking at opportunities to alleviate this anti-social parking.

We know that less than 5% of fans travel to football matches using active measures (cycle / walking) on matchdays.

We know that approximately 30% of fans use public transport (bus / train) to get to football matches on matchdays.
