The Bees closed out the season and their first back in the EFL after seven years with a win over relegated Harrogate Town.

The victory sees Barnet end the season nine unbeaten.

Dean Brennan named an unchanged side for the final outing of the campaign, including the bench.

The Bees opened the scoring just five minutes after kick-off and who else but Callum Stead to find the back of the net to give Barnet an early lead. A lapse of concentration in the Harrogate defence saw Kabongo Tshimanga pick the ball up in a dangerous area, before making the decision to play it into our number ten who calmly slotted it past Mark Oxley.

Tshimanga came close to getting a goal of his own on 13 minutes. The ball was threaded through to the striker by Ryan Glover, with our number 20 striking a powerful effort first time, but Oxley was on hand for the Sulphurites to parry it away.

As we approached the half-an-hour mark at the Exercise Stadium, Bryn Morris forced Cieran Slicker into a superb save from a free-kick, but the Bees’ shot-stopper was unable to keep out the penalty that was awarded following the resulting corner when Romoney Crichlow fouled Jacob Salter in the box.

Barnet looked to respond quickly and Idris Kanu took aim inside the area, but with too many yellow shirts in the way, the ball was deflected out for a corner.

Tom Hill had the ball in dangerous position for the hosts as we edged closer to the halfway stage, but Nik Tavares was composed and was able to shield the defender away from goal and the ball was eventually gathered by Slicker.

The Bees looked for a second before the break, with a couple of corners allowing Barnet to create opportunities in the Harrogate half, but both of Anthony Hartigan’s set-pieces from the right-hand side were unable to beat the first man.

Half-time: Harrogate Town AFC 1-1 Barnet FC

Dean Brennan made a half-time change, with Nik Tavares making way for Kane Smith after receiving a yellow card earlier on in the tie.

The hosts came out firing after the break, hitting the underside of the bar through Shawn McCoulsky five minutes after the restart, before the ball was put on a plate for Hill who’s goal-bound shot was blocked by a Bees’ shirt.

The Sulphurites came forward again, this time down the left flank with Reece Smith, but the cross delivered into the box was easily claimed bye Slicker.

Up the other end, Adam Senior rescued the ball and made the decision to play it long to Mark Shelton inside the area, whose effort was pushed away by Oxley for a Barnet corner.

The sold-out Harrogate home fans were sure their side had a second when Tobias Brenan looked to lift the ball over Slicker, but with not enough height, Senior was able to scramble to make the ball didn’t find the back of the net.

Dean Brennan made a double change with 65 minutes on the clock. Joe Kizzi and Nnamdi Ofoborh came on in place of Danny Collinge and Hartigan.

Shortly after, Diallang Jaiyesimi replaced Ryan Glover on the wing.

Chances were far and few for the Bees as the second-half continued. Smith let fly from distance after finding himself in plenty of space, but the number 23 couldn’t keep it down and it soared off target.

Moments later, the defender sent a shot from inside the area straight into the hands of Oxley.

As we entered the last ten minutes of normal time, George Thompson sent a deep ball into the danger area for Harrogate, but Slicker read it well and rose to claim.

Phil Chinedu was introduced with 82 minutes on the clock, replacing Kanu.

The 19-year-old made an instant impact from the bench, with his first touch of the ball sending the ball low and into the bottom right corner to give the Bees the lead late on.

Shelton forced the Harrogate shot-stopper to push the ball onto the roof of the net from a tight angle on the left-hand side as the Bees looked for another before the end of the game.

As we entered added time, Chinedu had to exit the action and the Bees were made to play the remainder of the game with ten men, as the defender came off worse in aerial duel.

Harrogate did everything to find a late goal, sending multiple balls into the box as the clock wound down, but Slicker was equal to every ball and the referee blew to signal the end of the game and the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign.

Full-time: Harrogate Town AFC 1-2 Barnet FC

Line-up: Slicker, Collinge (Collinge, 65’), Senior, Stead, Kanu (Chinedu, 82’), Glover (Jaiyesimi, 68’), Hartigan (Ofoborh, 65’), Shelton, Tshimanga, Crichlow, Tavares (Smith, 45’)

Goals: Stead (5’), Chinedu (82’)

It was the Callum Stead show at The Hive this afternoon, as his five fantastic finishes and a first Bees’ goal for Romoney Crichlow saw Barnet cruise past Gillingham in North-West London.

Dean Brennan made one change to the side that beat Notts County last Saturday, with Danny Collinge returning from suspension and Nnamdi Ofoborh taking his place on the bench.

Stead opened the scoring just six minutes after kick-off, nodding home a delivery from Ryan Glover to give the Bees an early lead from a short corner taken by Anthony Hartigan.

We almost found a second when Glover put the ball in the box yet again, but Mark Shelton’s headed effort was over the bar.

The Gills levelled proceedings shortly after, with Sullivan Booth firing home from close-range for the equaliser.

The Bees restored their lead a couple of minutes later following a mix-up in the Gillingham backline. Kabongo Tshimanga picked up the ball and drove forward, before selflessly playing it into the path of Stead who slotted home for his brace.

Our number ten had his hat-trick not even a minute later. Hartigan threaded the ball into the area and found Crichlow, who found Stead. The 26-year-old took a touch before tucking the ball into the left corner for his third of the afternoon.

It was almost four when the clock struck 20 minutes. The returning Danny Collinge set up Idris Kanu at the left post, but our number 11 couldn’t guide the ball on target.

Bradley Dack looked to pull one back for the visitors, but an important toe in the area stopped the attack and sent the ball out for a Gillingham corner.

As the tie hit the half-an-hour mark, A fantastic move in the final third was almost finished off by Shelton, who connected with Tshimanga’s back-heel in the box, but his shot didn’t have enough power on it and was into the hands of Glenn Morris.

Stead got goal number four and it was the perfect show of his work rate, as he picked up the ball outside the area, worked his way into the box and despite falling to the floor, was still able to control the ball and lift it over Morris to find the back of the net.

Hartigan floated a free-kick to the left-hand post, but Crichlow couldn’t keep it on target, before Collinge connected with another set-piece taken by our number 18, but was unable to guide the ball on target.

Senior came close to getting on the scoresheet, latching onto a delivery from Glover as we entered added time of the first-half, but our number five could only send it into the hands of Morris.

Crichlow added goal number five and got his first in black and amber before the referee blew his whistle for half-time. Another short corner collected by Glover and another assist for our number 15 who delivered a delicious ball for the defender to nod home and round off a five-star first-half performance.

Half-time: Barnet FC 5-1 Gillingham

The visitors enjoyed a period with the ball in the Barnet half early in the second 45, but despite progressing the ball into the final third, the ball eventually rolled into the hands of Slicker.

Glover set himself up to have a go on the edge of the area as we approached the hour mark at The Hive, but there were enough blue shirts in the way and his shot ricocheted off the Gills’ backline.

Stead continued to cause issues for the visiting defence, this time dancing past his man before putting the ball into the box, but Shelton arrived in the area too late and was unable to capitalise on the opportunity.

Dean Brennan made a quadruple change on 67 minutes. Diallang jaiyesimi, Kane Smith, Ben Winterburn and Phillip Chinedu all entered the action, with Tshimanga, Collinge, Hartigan and Kanu all making way.

Chinedu charged forward with the ball and wanted to make an impact off the bench. Our number 22 took aim, but the ball deflected out for a corner.

Stead added goal number six of the afternoon with 20 minutes still left to play. A delightful ball from a Kane Smith corner landed in the six-yard box and it was that man again who got the final touch to send it past Morris.

After getting off the mark for the club in the first-half, Crichlow was urged to shoot by Barnet supporters when he had the ball on the edge of the area. Our number 24 listened and sent a shot towards goal, forcing Morris to punch it away from danger.

Star of the show Stead was replaced by Oli Hawkins with less than ten minutes to go in our final change of the game.

Shelton had the ball in the back of the net in added time after Hakwins’ header was parried into his path, but the linesman’s flag was frustratingly raised for offside.

Gillingham scored a second on the stroke of full-time through substitute Josh Andrews, but that didn’t matter as the six goals scored by the hosts before that were enough to secure a comfortable final win of the season on home soil.

Full-time: Barnet FC 6-2 Gillingham

Line-up: Slicker, Collinge (Smith, 67’), Senior, Stead (Hawkins, 83’), Kanu (Chinedu, 67’), Glover, Hartigan (Winterburn, 67’), Shelton, Tshimanga (Jaiyesimi, 67’), Crichlow, Tavares

Goals: Stead (6’, 15’, 16’, 30’, 70’), Crichlow (45+4’)

Attendance: 3,704 with 1078 visitors

Shelton’s short corner found Ofoborh, who fed the ball into Ryan Glover on the edge of the area and our number 15 curled an effort towards goal, forcing Lynch to punch the ball away as it was heading for the top right corner.

The hosts grew into the game as the half continued, getting the ball into Barnet’s box on numerous occasions, but the amber and black shirts did enough to keep the scoreline goalless.

As we entered a minute of extra time, Fleetwood found themselves down to ten men when Shaun Rooney committed a nasty foul on Ryan Glover and with more time added for the stoppage, it allowed the Bees to press and they found the opener on the stroke of half-time, when Romoney Crichlow played the ball into Callum Stead, who slotted the ball into the back of the net to see us ahead at the break.

Half-time: Fleetwood Town 0-1 Barnet

Dean Brennan made a switch at half-time, with the cautioned Shelton making way for Anthony Hartigan.

Our number 18 put his stamp on the afternoon’s action in Lancashire just minutes later when he found himself with the ball in plenty of space outside the area, before unleashing a tremendous effort that soared into the top right corner to double the Bees’ lead after the restart.

The hosts closed the gap just four minutes later through Harrison Neal who slotted the ball past Slicker.

The Cod Army continued with the momentum, with Slicker parrying away a powerful effort from Elliot Bonds inside the area, before clawing away a goal-bound shot from Ched Evans.

Our second change of the afternoon came on the hour mark, with Phil Chinedu being replaced by Idris Kanu.

Fleetwood found their equaliser when referee Declan Bourne pointed to the penalty spot, with Mark Helm slotting past slicker from 12 yards out and bringing the score level.

A double change for the Bees followed, with Glover and Kizzi making way for Diallang Jaiyesimi and Kane Smith.

Just minutes after Fleetwood’s spot-kick, the referee pointed to the spot up the other end, giving the Bees a chance to regain their advantage.

Kabongo Tshimanga stepped up and just like he did on Friday, fired the ball into the roof of the net from the spot.

The number 20 completed his brace a couple of minutes later, connecting first time with a delivery from Jaiyesimi to restore our two-goal advantage, scoring his ninth goal in amber and black.

With a minute of the ninety left, Ben Winterburn entered the action, replacing Tshimanga who got a rapturous applause from the 145 travelling Bees’ fans.

The goals didn’t stop there and this time Jaiyesimi got in on the action, finding himself with the ball at his feet in the area and without hesitation, sent it soaring into the back of the net to round of a fantastic second-half response on the road.

Full-time: Fleetwood Town 2-5 Barnet

Line-up: Slicker, Senior, Stead, Glover (Jaiyesimi, 75’), Shelton (Hartigan, 45’), Tshimanga (Winterburn, 89’), Chinedu (Kanu, 60’), Crichlow, Tavares, Ofoborh, Kizzi (Smith, 75’)

Goals: Stead (45+3’), Hartigan, (47’), Tshimanga (77’, 79’), Jaiyesimi (90+4’)

Our number 28 found Adam Senior in plenty of space to send the ball into the back post, where Phil Chinedu was waiting, but the defender couldn’t latch onto it to send the ball goalwards.

Cieran Slicker was called into action not long after, with Corey Whitely played through one-on-one, but our number 29 stood firm an d parried away the goal-bound effort.

Bromley took the lead moments later through former Bee Nicke Kabamba who found the target from inside the area.

The Ravens didn’t have the advantage for long however. Phillip Chinedu received the ball on the byline out on the left-hand side and as it was looking like he was delivering the ball to a teammate closer to goal, the number 22’s effort evaded everybody and found its way into the back of the net to draw things level.

The Bees looked to continue the momentum after finding the equaliser, with Senior sending a looping effort into the top right corner, but Grant Smith was able to claw the ball away.

In what was a very end-to-end game of football and both sides continued to look for an opening. Tshimanga stepped up and slotted his spot-kick into the bottom right corner to give Barnet the lead.

The Ravens looked to respond, but Mitch Pinnock’s header was claimed by Slicker.

The Bees’ continued to use their momentum despite being a man light. Glover’s first-time effort from Shelton’s delivery fired wide.

Our January window addition up top was the next to let loose on goal, this time with Crawley shot-stopper Jacob Chapman being forced to push ithe powerful shot away from the danger area.

The Bees came agonisingly close again as half-time loomed, but Danny Collinge couldn’t send his effort from close-range goalwards after connecting with a Shelton set-piece.

Half-time: Crawley Town 0-0 Barnet FC

Some superb work from Glover following the restart near the corner flag out on the left-hand side. The number 15 fizzed the ball into the area, but Callum Stead couldn’t control it.

Kanu sent a diagonal ball into the back post to find Tshimanga, who couldn’t quite meet it and a Crawley shirt got a touch to send it out for a corner.

The deadlock was broken ten minutes into the second 45 and it was the Bees who took the lead. Glover played an excellent ball which was headed on by Senior, before falling into the feet of Shelton who stretched to guide the ball into the back of the net.

The hosts looked to respond from a free-kick just outside the box, but Lolo’s effort was saved comfortably by Cieran Slicker.

Our first change of the night saw Anthony Hartigan enter the action, with Tshimanga making way.

Kellan Gordon whipped a dangerous ball Into the Bees’ box as the hosts continued to look for an equaliser, but Senior booted the ball out of play.

The Bees came close to scoring a second when Chapman came out of his area, leaving an empty net, but Callum Stead could only kick the ball at the outside of the post.

A double change was made with less than ten minute of the 90 to go, with Rhys Browne and Britt Assombalonga introduced and Glover and Kanu being sacrificed.

With five minutes of normal time remaining, the Bees had a golden opportunity to double their lead late on. Hartigan sent a corner into the back post and Romoney Crichlow’s touch sent it out for a goal-kick instead of the ball being able to roll into the back of the net and the linesman flag was also raised for an offside in the box.

Crawley had a chance to score a late equaliser when the referee pointed to the spot after Browne was seen to foul Kellan Gordon in the area. Danilo Orsi stepped up for the Red Devils and although Slicker dived in the right direction, the forward slotted it into the right-hand side.

Slicker was called into action to deny a late shot for the hosts in seven minutes of added time, when Ronan Darcy drilled an effort on goal, but our number 29 comfortably got his hands to it to deny a late winner for Scott Lindsey’s side and the points were shared in West Sussex.

Full-time: Crawley Town 1-1 Barnet FC

Line-up: Slicker, Collinge, Senior, Stead, Kanu (Browne, 81), Glover (Assombalonga, 81’), Shelton, Tshimanga (Hartigan, 76’), Crichlow, Tavares, Ofoborh

Goals: Shelton (56’)

Anthony Hartigan took the captains armband and Nik Tavares returned in defence.

Rhys Browne returned to the squad, while Ben Winterburn was sidelined.

The visitors showed intent when Harrison Biggins sent an effort soaring over the bar with not even a minute on the clock.

The first Bees’ attack saw Adam Senior play the ball into Callum Stead down the right-hand side. Our number ten worked the ball into the box, but was unable to get the shot away.

The forward found himself in a good position minutes later, receiving a flick on from Idris Kanu, before flashing it across goal, but there was no amber and black shirt in the six-yard box to get on the end of it.

As the tie ticked towards the 15-minute mark, Newport County won the ball high up the pitch and worked it around the box patiently, but Bobby Kamwa’s shot was well wide of the target.

Newport captain Matthew Baker sent the ball into the box as the first 45 entered it’s latter stages, but Senior sent it out for a corner that didn’t trouble Cieran Slicker.

The deadlock was broken shortly after, when Slicker’s first-time clearance fell to the feet of Stead. Our number ten worked the ball closely to his feet before cooly slotting the ball past Jordan Wright for the opener.

The Bees came agonisingly close to a second five minutes later. Anthony Hartigan sent his free-kick out to Ryan Glover on the right-hand side, with our number 15 having plenty of space and time to loop the ball into the back post where Kabongo Tshimanga was positioned, but the striker couldn’tt direct his header down and instead sent it over the bar.

Slicker’s first save of the game saw him deny Exiles’ 19th-minute substitute Ben Lloyd from close-range and keep Barnet ahead heading into the break.

Half-time: Barnet FC 1-0 Newport County

The first ten minutes of the second-half saw little action in either boxes, with Llyod whipping the ball into the Bees’ box, but Danny Collinge’s block sent it out for a corner, which was sent into the area before an eventual foul from Newport County half-time substitute James Crole saw referee halt their attack.

Another entry in the Barnet box saw Biggins with the ball in the area, but Collinge did well to stay on the shoulder, before winning the ball back from the visiting midfielder and clearing the danger.

The visitors continued to pile the pressure on, with Lloyd having another chance on goal. This time, his goal-bound shot deflected on its way through and Collinge was there to clear it off the line.

Up the other end, Romoney Crichlow connected with a Hartigan corner, but the defender could only guide it into the hands of Wright.

Newport found the equaliser on 65 minutes, with Kamwa slotting past Slicker inside the area.

Dean made his first double change just after the 70-minute mark, with Mark Shelton and Oli Hawkins coming on in place of Hartigan and Kanu.

Christian Fuch’s side came so close to taking the lead with ten minutes of normal time to go, curling the ball onto the crossbar, much to the frustration of the traveling County fans.

The visitors, did however, find the back of the net for a second time this afternoon shortly after, with Crole poking it home from close-range to give the relegation-threatened side the late advantage.

Browne came on on place of goalscorer Stead in our third change of the tie, with just over 5 minutes of normal time to play.

Our number eight found the ball at his feet as four minutes additional time was indicated, headed on by Senior in the area, but Wright came off his line to gather, before Shelton’s rebound went wide in the last action of the game.

Full-time: Barnet FC 1-2 Newport County

Line-up: Slicker, Collinge, Senior, Stead (Browne, 84’), Kanu (Hawkins, 74’), Glover, Hartigan (Shelton, 74’), Tshimanga, Crichlow, Tavares, Ofoborh

Attendance: 2,256, with 280 visitors
