Dean Brennan made a few adjustments for the final National League game before the play-offs. The changes for the bees included, Marvin Armstrong, Kian Flanagan, Sam Granville, David Moyo, Dominic Revan, Courtney Senior, and Moussa Diarra.
Barnet started the match strongly. The first chance came to Dale Gorman but his shot from the edge of the box cleared the crossbar at the top.
Sam Granville then made a dashing run from the halfway before passing it on Armstrong, creating a huge opportunity for The Bees. He ultimately overpowered the shot and sent the ball sailing over the bar.
Laurie Walker was then called into action. The Dagenham striker fires a meek attempt at goal, which he easily deflected. Soon after, a Dagenham striker headed the ball from a corner over the crossbar. Senior then fired a shot for Barnet, but it missed the goal by the thinnest of margins and went out for a goal kick.
Moyo then hit a fantastic low drive that forced the Dagenham custodian to dive to parry the ball away.
HT: Barnet 0-0 Dagenham
Inih Effiong successfully evaded the Barnet defence and buried the ball past Walker, and gave the opposition the lead.
Senior fired a fierce strike at goal, but the Dagenham defender intercepted it, and the ball went out for a corner that was met by a defender’s head. Late in the game, Walker was needed to help Barnet remain competitive. He successfully deflected the striker’s potent shot intended for a corner. The Bees had a fantastic opportunity to tie the game, but the close-range attempt was blocked and sent out for a corner.
Late in added time, Dagenham were able to score to increase their lead at The Hive.
The Bees now look forward to their play-off campaign which starts on Tuesday against Boreham Wood.
