Barnet take on Ebbsfleet United on Bank Holiday Monday at the Hive (15:00 KO), in the sixth match of the season.
So, what’s the Buzz?
Currently sitting 3rd in the table in the playoff spots, Barnet will hope to make the jump back into first place in the race for promotion, as they face 6th placed Ebbsfleet United.
Dean Brennan’s men will hope for a better result this time out, after a disappointing 1-0 loss against Dagenham and Redbridge. But with 10 points out of a possible 15 the Bees will still be in high spirts as they look to move up to 13 points by the end of Monday.
Opponent profile:
Club name: Ebbsfleet United F.C.
Nickname: The Fleet
Founded: 1946 (as Gravesend & Northfleet)
Ground: The Kuflink Stadium
Manager: Dennis Kutrieb
League position: 6th
Opposition report:
Ebbsfleet have had a good start to life, back in the national league with 3 wins from a possible 5. Their last result was a 3-0 thumping of Kidderminster, which saw star man Polen grab a brace. They usually play a 442-formation making them compact in the middle, while also leaving two attackers to hit teams in behind with their pace upfront. Betting odds have Ebbsfleet 11th in the table before the season starts, so sitting in 6th will have our visitors very happy with the season so far.
One to watch: Dominic Poleon
The Experienced Forward signed for our opponents in February 2021 and is Ebbsfleet’s top scorer in the league this season with 4 goals in 4 games. The 29-year-old striker is known for his Pace upfront but can also play out wide. Born in Newham, London he was a youth Player at Chelsea, and Southend United before getting his first taste for senior team football at Leeds United. After four years at Leeds the striker has moved around the EFL making over 200 appearances for the likes of Oldham Athletic, AFC Wimbledon, Bradford City, Crawley Town and Newport County. Now leading the Line for Ebbsfleet he will be hungry to show he still has what it takes to play in the EFL.
In the Dugout: Dennis Kurtieb
The German manager from Berlin has played and manged in the German Lower Leagues before taking his first role outside of his homeland in 2020 with our opponents Ebbsfleet. Having been regarded as a left field appointment he has since proved his doubters wrong wining the Vanarama national league South last season with a record 110 league goals and 103 points.
