Inside The Hive: Your weekly update

Head Coach Appointment

There is of course a lot of anticipation regarding the Club appointing a new Head Coach ahead of the new campaign. The process has continued to advance over the previous week and there have been positive talks with a number of shortlisted candidates this week, as we look to ensure we get the right man for the job. Due diligence is also being carried out ahead of making an appointment, but the Club are positive with where the process is at.

We hope to provide a further update regarding an appointment of a new Head Coach in due course. We thank you for your continued patience.

Player Recruitment

With just 6 weekends to go until the new season is upon us, we understand there is concern regarding player recruitment, particularly with other clubs completing business throughout the last couple of weeks.

However, the Club remains confident that we will be able to recruit a strong team ahead of the new campaign and once a new Head Coach is appointed, they will be tasked with selecting the players they see fit from those who are available.

We will be able to communicate the pre-season plan in more detail upon the arrival of a new Head Coach.

Elite Development Team

The Bees Elite Development Team (EDP) kick off their pre-season campaign with a friendly match against Stanmore College at The Hive London this afternoon (4 PM). The side will include some Barnet FC scholars as they get their first match action since football went into lockdown in March.

Club Sponsorship

Following the announcement a couple of weeks ago that our partnership with Canon Medical had come to an end, we are actively seeking a new front of shirt sponsor for the upcoming season. We are in positive talks with potential new partners and hope to be able to announce more in the coming weeks.

In regards to a new kit, an announcement regarding a new strip for the 2020/21 campaign is likely to coincide with the addition of a potential new Club Sponsor.

Any interested businesses in partnering with us can contact John Meir via jmeir@thehivelondon.com, to discuss the various sponsorship opportunities we have available.

London Bees

The London Bees season gets underway on September 6th, when they face a trip to Coventry United for their opening fixture in the FA Women’s Championship. Head Coach Lee Burch and his backroom staff have worked hard discussing player contracts and it is likely the retained squad list will be released in the early part of next week.

Like many other sides, the Bees have had to work with a reduced budget this season but the squad is shaping up nicely ahead of the new campaign. You can stay tuned with all the latest from the London Bees via their official website.

Walking Football Team

The Walking Football Team’s sessions on a Friday afternoon have had record-breaking demand since their return last week. The Hive Foundation has now been able to secure an additional pitch from next week, meaning the current number is now capped at 42. All sessions are currently full for the coming weeks.
