Germany Stars Prepare At The Hive

On Sunday Joachim Löw’s Germany side trained at The Hive stadium in preparation for their friendly with England at Wembley.
The squad, which contained 2013 Champions League winners Thomas Muller and Jerome Boateng, were greeted by a host of youngsters who waited patiently to get a glimpse of their icons.
The superstars duly signed autographs and had pictures taken with supporters before making their way into The Hive where they were greeted by another Champions League winner, Edgar Davids.
The Dutchman welcomed every player before sharing a private joke with former rival and Germany striker Oliver Bierhoff.
Nationalmannschaft then took to the pitch for an intense one-hour training session in front of the worldwide media who descended on The Hive in their masses.
BarnetFC.com also got the chance to catch up with some of biggest players in world football and like all who visit The Hive they were mightily impressed with the facilities on offer.
Julian Draxler
“It was good training session at The Hive and it was important for us to have a good preparation for the match against England.
“We were all very happy for the chance to train here and the facilities are excellent so it was very enjoyable for us.”
Mario Gotze
“The facilities were very good and there are a lot of places higher in the game that are not as good. It was a pleasure to be here.
“It is quite extraordinary for a club like Barnet to have a place like this, they are in the fifth tier but their training areas are very good.”
Per Mertesacker
“I have never been here so it’s quite interesting how big London is. I think we had a one hour journey to get to the ground here but it’s good to see a different view of London sometimes.
“It is also really exciting in particular that the city has so many big grounds to play football at and when you look around The Hive kids are playing so that is very useful.”
