BEES IN THE COMMUNITY – GRATITUDE FOODBANK

Barnet FC players were out and about in the local community once again at the end of December.

Jerome Okimo, Anthony Hartigan and Foundation Manager, Dan Barton, visited Gratitude Foodbank in Borehamwood to support their volunteer workforce preparing food packages and loading donated food and furniture on to delivery vans.

Gratitude is based in Borehamwood Herts, they fight hunger and food waste. Gratitude take food that’s good to eat but can’t be sold in shops because of packaging errors or overproduction.

They then redistribute it to the community through various free meals projects, community pantry and a network of local charities. For the benefit of vulnerable members of the public and the public at large that may include those with disabilities, mental or physical health issues, in advanced age, those subject to or at risk of poverty or financial hardship, or in some other way disadvantaged or socially marginalised, in the UK and potentially with partners overseas.

Foundation manager Dan Barton said: ‘ It is a pleasure to come out and support local charities especially at this time of the year when so many families are struggling to make ends meet. The Hive Foundation, Barnet FC and London Bees are fully committed to supporting local initiatives such as Gratitude Foodbank’.
