Following on from our announcement to end our ten-year exile in Harrow and bring Barnet FC back to Barnet, we promised a progress update at the end of the month.
Our planners WSP are now in discussions with the London Borough of Barnet and are currently arranging a date for a kick-off meeting with teams from Planning & Building Control as well as Major Projects.
WSP received an email on Tuesday 27th February from Barnet Council confirming their intent to arrange a meeting.
This meeting will begin the pre-application process with the Council, in which hopefully, timescales; how the pre-application process will run; and what information the Council will need from us can be agreed.
Following on from this initial meeting, WSP will begin the formal pre-application process.
We will want to have a number of meetings with the Council and request the pre-application discussions include officers from highways, design and ecology.
The Football Club are in the process of instructing a team of consultants to undertake the first stage of technical work on the Underhill site, including Sports England and the GLA, as well as stakeholder engagement, transport, ecology/biodiversity, socio economic impact, townscape and visual impact, sustainability, noise, lighting and flooding/drainage.
We hope that we will receive the full support of the Council so that we can bring our incredible Club back to where it belongs and will update supporters again at the end of next month.
