MK DONS GAME SELECTED FOR TV BROADCAST WITH NEW KICK-OFF TIME

Barnet FC’s Sky Bet League Two match away at MK Dons’ on Saturday 21st March, has a new kick-off time due to selection for Sky Sports TV.

The Bees will now face the Dons at Stadium MK at the earlier kick-off time of 12:30pm.

The game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports+.

Ticket details will be announced in due course.

CLUB STATEMENT – DEAN BRENNAN

Dean Brennan has been given a nine-match touchline suspension, mandatory education and a £2,000 fine following a charge under FA Rule E3 at Barnet FC’s EFL League Two fixture against Shrewsbury Town on Saturday 6 September.

Dean Brennan denied the charge but an independent Regulatory Commission imposed the sanctions following a hearing.

Barnet Football Club acknowledges the written reasons published by the FA (details of which will be made available once the case file is released) and will continue to support Dean moving forward.

Barnet FC Manager Dean Brennan has issued the following statement,

“Throughout this case I have categorically denied the FA charge of discrimination.

Whilst the panel have come to their conclusion, which I have to respect, I do not agree with their decision.

There is a place in football for everyone, it’s the greatest sport on the planet.

Personally, football has given me everything I have today; I owe football everything.

It enabled me to meet my wife and create our family and friends.

This made me the person I am today, whilst staying true to my Irish heritage, of which I am extremely proud.

I’d like to thank Lindsay Gordon at The LMA for all her support and I’d like to thank my legal representative Craig Harris for his support and expert guidance.

I’d also like to thank the staff at Barnet Football Club, my Chairman and The Kleanthous family for their full support throughout this time.

A special thanks goes to my wife and family, I love you all.

Barnet Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of centre-forward Kabongo Tshimanga on a permanent deal from fellow League Two side Crawley Town.

The 28-year-old makes the move to the capital from the Reds, where he made a total of 23 appearances since joining the Sussex outfit last summer.

Progressing through the ranks at Milton Keynes, where he signed his professional contract, Tshimanga enjoyed multiple non-league loans and at just 18-years-old, he ventured out to Iceland to play his football for a few months in Reykjavik.

Kabby then made the move North to join Boston United for a season, followed by stints with Oxford City and Boreham Wood where he scored a combined 62 league goals.

The forward’s best goalscoring period came with Chesterfield in the National League, where he found the back of the net 31 times in 51 appearances during his 18-month stint with the Spireites, including an impressive record of 24 in 27 games in the 2020/21 season.

A loan move to Peterborough United followed, before the move was made permanent and he linked up with Boreham Wood for a second time on loan, followed by a spell with Fleetwood Town.

The 28-year-old also enjoyed a season-long loan at Swindon Town, where he scored 11 goals and assisted a further three in their 2024/25 League Two campaign.

On bringing the experienced forward to the Bees, Dean Brennan said,

“We’ve tried to get Kabby on several occasions and nearly got him 2 or 3 times but it’s something that just never worked out. We’ve stayed patient and we think the timing of the move is needed for both parties and we know what he can bring to the team.

He’s a player that’s broken our hearts a few times over the years when scoring against us. He’s a box player, a goalscorer and we just want him to do what he’s good at.

We know his personality will fit into the group very well and we’re delighted that he’s chosen to come on board with us.

In this window, I’m a big believer in trying to upgrade the group and that’s always been my motto since I started in management and certainly since I’ve been at Barnet and I believe we’ve upgraded the group with the three players we’ve just bought in.”

Dean Brennan has been charged with misconduct following the EFL League Two game between Grimsby Town and Barnet FC on Saturday, 17 January.

A response date of Monday, 26 January has been set.

Oli Hawkins and Kane Smith visit local primary school

As part of The Hive Foundation’s continued community engagement, Barnet FC players Oli Hawkins and Kane Smith paid a visit to local primary school students.

The children enjoyed a compilation of goal highlights from the current season, a history lesson about Barnet Football Club as well as a Q&A session with the visiting players.

Foundation Manager Aleksander Czerniec said:

“Thanks to both of the schools for being so welcoming and being part of our Affiliate School Programme connecting with the local community to support our football club!

“We look forward to welcoming both the Manorside and Tudor Primary Schools to our home fixture against Oldham next week, as they will be our School of the Day, walking out with the Barnet First Team players.

We thank them for their welcoming hospitality and look forward to seeing them next week.

ZAK BRUNT DEPARTS BARNET FC

Zak Brunt has today completed a permanent move to Boreham Wood Football Club.

Having joined the Bees in the Summer of 2023, Zak featured three times during our League Two campaign, having made a total of 91 appearances for the Club and was a crucial part of our record-breaking National League campaign last season.

Zak scored twelve goals and made fourteen assists during his time at Barnet.

Speaking on his departure from the Club, Manager Dean Brennan said,

“The contribution Zak’s made at the Football Club puts him at legendary status.

He’s part of the 100 Club and helped upgrade our group and our team and made a huge impact with his personality around the place.

We wish him well at Boreham Wood and nothing but success.

We thank him for his major contribution to Barnet FC and for putting us in the position that we’re now in.”

Everyone at the Club would like to thank Zak for all his efforts in a Barnet shirt and wish him the very best for the future!
