Allen Admits Play-Off Hopes Are Over

Martin Allen admitted that Barnet’s play-off hopes are over following a 0-4 defeat to FC Halifax Town.

The result leaves Barnet five points from fifth place with all members of the top six, except Luton Town, with a game in hand over the Bees.
Speaking post-match the head-coach admitted the Bees’ play-off chances are over but stated they will continue to work hard until the final whistle of the season.
"Yes," said Allen when asked if the club’s play-off chances were over.
“We’ve got to give it everything we’ve got however in the remaining games. There will be no sitting back and taking it easy.
“We’ll be back in on Monday and have a duty to our contracts and the paying public to practice and train."
He continued: “The players are more disappointed. They don’t walk out of there happy go lucky.
“The three games give me a chance to assess everybody. There are still players I haven’t seen play properly yet.
"I need to have a look at everybody now and in a couple of weeks time, I have the task of selecting the players I feel can challenge in this division next season, home and away.”
