We will be holding trials at The Hive London on two separate dates, firstly on Monday, May 31st (10am-12pm), before holding another session on Saturday, June 5th (12:30pm-2pm).

EDUCATION:

Student-athletes will be given an excellent education that will allow them to seek a variety of careers or further education options at the end of their second year.

Student-athletes have the option to study a variety of BTEC diplomas, at Level 2 or Level 3. They can also study a wide range of A Level subjects across multiple departments. Both options are there to give the student a clear progression towards further education if so desired.

Our partner school, Canons High School, is situated a mere five minute walk from The Hive London, allowing players to travel easily between the two sites.

The club and the school are in close and regular contact, whilst we have members of staff­ dual-employed by both establishments who are based at the two sites. This way we are able to cast a constant eye over the student-athletes’ education, sport and welfare.

 FOOTBALL:

The Bees Academy Football & Education Programme encompasses multiple squads, each training three times a week and playing matches once a week.

Fixtures are played in highly prestigious leagues such as the U19 National League Youth Alliance, the Tactic League and ECFA Women’s Premier League.

These present a close link to academy fixtures, with matches against Premier League and Football League Development Programmes as well as National League U19 squads.

Spectators are welcome to come and watch this one, with tickets available on the doors for £5 adults and £2 for children.

This year’s FA Youth Cup squad will be made up of the best players from our Elite Development Programme squads and they will hope to emulate last year’s record-breaking run which saw us make Round Four of the competition.

However, the Cherries held on to their lead meaning the young Bees memorable FA Youth Cup run came to an end at the Third Round. 

Despite the disappointment of elimination, Senda emphasised his pride at the performance of his side and this season’s cup run. 

“We’ve enjoyed every single round, there have been many different challenges throughout the whole tournament.”

“We can be immensely proud of every single one of them, all the players, all the staff and everyone who has been involved. 

“Sadly we have been knocked out by a very good Bournemouth team and we wish them all the luck in the next round.”

The Premier League hosts had a strong 15-minute spell at the end of the half and their clinical nature saw them lead by four at the break. 

The young Bees head coach felt that the Cherries clinical nature was the only difference in an otherwise even opening 45 minutes. 

“The game plan was to get in their half and put them under maximum pressure. I felt we created chances, but their quality shone through.

“Even at four down, we felt we were still in the game and we came out a lot better in the second half.

“It would have been easy for the boys to lose their heads, we wanted them to have a calmness and care in the final third. That is exactly what we did.”

Martyn Box went off on a stretcher with a nasty looking injury, after he put in a tremendous block to deny the Cherries. 

But thankfully Senda confirmed that the injury is not as bad as first feared. 

“It was a brave challenge and at the time it looked quite serious. Fortunately, the physios assessed him and he is up on his feet, it was more the shock of the tackle as heard a click in his back.

“Precaution comes first when we’re talking about players’ backs, but he is fine.”
