So, What’s the Buzz?
Barnet come into this game off the back of a 4-0 win in the FA Cup fourth-round replay against Aveley FC. Nicke Kabamba scored his third hat-trick for the club with a header and two fantastic right-footed finishes. Harry Pritchard scored a late goal to complete the scoring, sending The Bees into the FA Cup.
The team’s confidence will be high for tomorrow’s game against Maidenhead United, where Barnet will be aiming for another three points to keep their unbeaten home record secure.
Club Profile:
Club Name: Maidenhead United
Nickname: The Magpies
Founded: 1870
Ground: York Road Stadium
Manager: Alan Devonshire
League Position: 22nd
Form: LLDDD
Opposition report:
Maidenhead haven’t had the best of starts to the season, with two wins, seven draws and six losses so far. That said, they’re now unbeaten in their last four games including a draw against league leaders, Chesterfield. They’ll now try to continue this run at The Hive, and at the base of this will be their defence.
The Magpies have only conceded one more goal than Barnet this season despite sitting in 22nd place, but Barnet will be formidable opponents- scoring nearly three times their goal tally.
One to Watch: Tobi Sho-Silva
Currently at his 11th club, Sho-Silva comes into this game after scoring a hat-trick in the FA Cup qualifying round against Weston-Super-Mare last Saturday.
At his last two clubs, Sutton and Carlisle, Sho-Silva secured promotion. With eight league goals in 63 games at the two clubs, the striker will look to improve his tally and capitalise on his momentum at The Hive.
In the Dugout: Alan Devonshire
Making 358 league appearances for West Ham and earning eight England caps in his playing career, Alan Devonshire is now in his second spell at Maidenhead United.
After leaving The Magpies in 2003, Devonshire rejoined the club in 2015 and has been the manager since. Conducted into the Maidenhead Hall of Fame in 2010, he ended the club’s 27-year trophy drought in his first managerial spell at the club.
After topping the National League South in the 2016/17 season, Maidenhead’s last few years has seen them aiming to avoid relegation, and they sit in the relegation zone going into tomorrow’s game.
