Woodman’s footballing career began in 1989 with Crystal Palace where he played as a goalkeeper in the youth academy. Woodman never made any senior appearances for the Eagles before his departure to Exeter city in 1994, a club which he would make 6 senior appearances.
Woodman craved more playing time and in 1995 joined Northampton Town where made the bulk of his appearances. The Camberwell born man made 163 appearances for Northampton before joining Brentford on loan in 1999. Woodman spent two years playing with the Bees in London before going on to represent the likes of Oxford United, Southend United before retiring at Rushden & Diamonds in 2006.
Woodman began his first managerial role on February 1st 2017 when he was appointed as Whitehawk manager, he left at the end of the season following securing National League South safety.
