Key Personnel: Liverpool born Karl Robinson was originally assistant to Paul Ince but took over the reins at MK Dons in 2010 at the age of only 29. He had a playing career in the non-league with numerous clubs before a brief spell as Academy Coach at Liverpool.

Brief Directions by Road: The Trusty M1 until junction13. Take the A421 signposted Milton Keynes and Bletchley. Stay on this road for approx. 3 miles. At a roundabout (by now you are on the outskirts of the City) take the second exit labelled H9 Groveway and stadium. Cross over 4 roundabouts – the fifth is the roundabout which crosses the A5 where you will see the stadium to the left. The stadium is very clearly signposted by this time – take the second exit where you will find the entrance by turning left at the traffic lights.

Car Parking: Car Parking is available at the ground for early comers and a £7.00 per car charge awaits. The club also recommends the Islamic Centre at Peverel Drive and Castle House on Dawson Road (£5.00) although these are not run by the club. The industrial areas around the stadium do offer parking as well.

Directions by Train: Milton Keynes Central is a 45 walk away while Bletchley is slightly closer. A cab from Milton Keynes will cost you about £9.00.

Buses MK Metro Routes 15 and 16 operate to the ASDA on the Retail Park next to the stadium every 30 minutes.

Eating and Drinking Locally: The ground offers the usual football fayre and my spies tell me its good but a little on the pricey side. The nearest pubs are not exactly within staggering distance either. My advice is the area called Fenny Stratford which is a short walk due south of the stadium for a decent selection of pubs. Or best of all The Inn on the Lake, Bond Avenue, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK1 1PA

Ground Description: The Club moved to the new stadium in 2007 and it cost a whopping £50m to build, but the money has been well spent as it really is a superb venue to watch football from.

The interior of the stadium is now complete with the installation of seats into the upper tiers. It is imposing and frankly worthy of Championship level at least. It is doubled tiered on all sides with one side housing hospitality areas. Away supporters are normally located in the upper tier of the stadium in the North East Corner, where around 3,000 fans can be accommodated.

Previous Meetings and Memories: Our last visit in January 2008 was a lovely day out with Ismail Yakubu’s goal winning the day 1-0. The infamous 1-3 defeat at the old Hockey Stadium when Capt. Hendo was sent off for purely pointing out that an MK Don had missed a bit while shaving! Memories of Milton Keynes? Well when the place was developing Mrs Reckless’ cousin moved there and when we were invited up for dinner it took us 3 days to find his house!

Celebrity Watch: Autograph books at the ready everybody – Olympic athlete Kriss Akabusi can be found having a laugh, but you have got to catch him first while Walt Disney actor and Barnet winger from the 1990 season David Tomlinson is often flying his kite in Gulliver’s Theme Park. Cricketer and dancer Darren Gough and Jazz greats Cleo Laine and Johnny Dankworth lived locally too. Glamour model Debbie Lawrence is a regular visitor to the local Debenhams while Inspector Morse’s sidekick Kevin Whatley was seen using all his detective skills in an attempt to negotiate the roundabout system without success.
