Jon Nurse has apologised to Luton Town’s Jonathan Smith and wished the midfielder a speedy recovery.
Nurse was sent off in the first-half for a challenge on the Luton man that resulted in him leaving the field of play. The full extent of the injury has yet to be determined.
Nurse said: "I really didn’t mean to hurt the lad, I caught him very badly and it was a poor challenge. I’m very sorry and I apologise to Jonathan, the rest of the Luton Town players, John Still and the Luton Town supporters. I wish him a speedy recovery."
An inconsolable Nurse also visited the Luton Town dressing room post-match to apologise for the challenge.
The players, coaching staff and everybody else at Barnet Football Club all of course with Smith a speedy recovery and we will update supporters on any news in due course.
